Installing security fencing is a matter of concern for every person. Because strong fencing not only protects his property and valuable assets from the eyes of burglars, but also plays an incredible role in protecting the lives of his dear ones. Therefore, when it comes to installing fencing for security reasons, a person doesn’t leave any stone unturned. Interestingly, there are multiple security options available in the market to select from. The highly preferred security fencings are palisade and mesh fencing.

Depending upon their needs, the users may any of them for the safety of their family members, employees, and property. But people often confuse in selecting between both these types of fencing. Keeping this confusion of users, this article highlights the difference between them.

Palisade Security Fencing: To begin with, let’s start with the benefits of palisade security fencing. The advantages of palisade fencing are summarized:

  1. Durable: It is one of the most important benefits of palisade fencing. It is developed from strong material and therefore hard to break easily. The process of galvanising and applying the coats of powder contributes to increasing its strength and making it suitable for lasting long. The powder coating protects the fencing from rust.
  2. Restricts the Intruders From Attempting to Move Inside the Property: The top section of palisade fencing is developed with ‘D’ or ‘W’ pointers. This restricts the intruders from attempting to move inside the property. As these pointers can make deep wounds on their body.
  3. Low Maintenance: Palisade fencing is the best security option for people who prefer to install fencing with low maintenance needs. The only thing you need to maintain this type of fencing is inspecting them from time to time and detecting loose bolts. If there is no need to replace any damaged pole, then there is no need to replace the whole fencing panel, just replace the damaged pole, and get the new pole welded in its place.
  4. Anti-Climbing: The palisade fencing is developed without footholds and is developed with sharp and pointing edges, that can easily harm the body of someone trying to move across them. The absence of footholds makes it difficult for intruders to even climb over them and reach the top end.
  5. Multifarious Fencing: Depending upon the user’s needs, palisade fencing can be installed at any place whether it is an office, a shopping mall, an apartment, a house, or any place. It is easier to install this type of fencing.

Demerits of Palisade Fencing: Talking about the demerits of palisade fencing, there aren’t any notable demerits, as it is versatile fencing and offers lots of benefits. Still, it is criticized because of its looks. Some people don’t like its long and tall design. Moving ahead, as far as its price is concerned, it is a little bit more expensive than mesh fencing and takes a longer time to install.

Mesh Fencing: Because of its versatile property's palisade fencing is highly preferred fencing from the security point of view, this, however, doesn’t mean that mesh fencing has no features. Since its inception in 1990 mesh fencing has also impressed buyers and offers lots of benefits. Some of its benefits are:

  1. Less Expensive: Compared to palisade fencing, mesh fencing is less expensive and offers equivalent safety as offered by palisade fencing.
  2. Appealing: The sleek looks of mesh fencing attract most buyers. Going through this reason, it is preferred by buyers who look for security fencing that helps in increasing the aesthetic appearance of their property along with safety.
  3. Durable: It is said that never judge a book by its covers. The same appears true with mesh fencing. At first instance, it looks easier to break this fencing, but breaking it is not so easy.
  4. Low Maintenance: Alike palisade fencing, mesh fencing also doesn’t require specific maintenance

Disadvantages of Mesh Fencing: There are no disadvantages to mesh fencing. The only thing for which people criticize it is its low height compared to palisade fencing therefore, sometimes it is easier to climb over them.

Conclusion: Both mesh security fencing and palisade fencing have their benefits. Therefore, depending on their needs, users can get them installed on their properties.
